One pad to rule them all.

Brook, designers behind this generation's essential multi-console solutions such as the Brook Universal Fighting Board with Headers, the Brook PS4+ Fighting Board with Audio, and family of converter devices, now integrate those technologies into a professional-grade game controller.

    The Power of Three

Three consoles, three ways to play: Brook is compatible with Playstation 4, PS3 and Nintendo Switch consoles, lending an amazing amount of versatility for modern consoles.  At just $45, this is an economical alternative to the Switch Pro controller, which commonly retails over $60. You can also utilize MARS on PC, with full X-Input support included.

The number three also includes MARS' unique control options.  Cross and disc d-pad controls can be swapped at will, in addition to the multi-faceted control option made popular by the Xbox Elite controller.  Now you can enable this specialized control method on competing systems.

    1. Great controller to carry around

This is a really good controller that works on every modern day non-Xbox console. Tested on my PC and PS4 and it works great. It has a good lengthy micro USB breakaway cable that has notches that line up with some plastic pegs to secure the cable more than a standard micro usb cable (though a standard micro usb cable will work). The light bar is kind of weak. Headphone jack is awesome, actually was louder than my Dualshock 4 (probably due to the wired connection)

      The controls:
+ Good analog sticks that are responsive and comfortable. I played Knack just fine with them.
+- The buttons feel more like silenced buttons, which makes them feel more spongy. This takes some getting used to, but can actually be a plus because other players won't hear your button presses as loudly. The R1 and L1 could be better. The buttons are still very responsive.
+ The interchangeable D-pad is awesome. The disc-shaped D-pad feels nice for quarter turn attacks in fighting games. Best of all it has squares that don't hurt you but instead help you know where you are on the D-pad, unlike the Mad Catz Fightpads that are completely smooth. The other two D-pads are nice as well. This is actually a proper D-pad unlike the Switch Horipad, which uses a plastic D-pad rocking over 4 buttons. The Dpad plastic rests on an actual D-pad cross on this one without feeling cheap.
      + Good comfortable trigger buttons.
+ Loud audio through the headphone jack (on PS4)
+ Motion controls- this makes it one of the best controllers because you still have the motion controls. Currently this is the only third party controller I know of that is a wired pad with motion controls for the Nintendo Switch. It also works on the PS4, tested on the on screen keyboard.
+ Still has options and Share button
      + Has a home button.

      - Touch pad emulation feature on PS4 is not as good as using a Dualshock 4. It can work, but is not as easy as using a Dualshock 4.
      - Light bar on the controller is dim and has no options to adjust on PS4.
      - Brook button (home button) LED backlight is way too bright and has some light bleed on the edges.
      - This controller left me with a hand cramp that I have not experienced with a Dualshock 4, it may possibly be slightly wider than a Dualshock 4.
      - The face button labels are different, but they are colored with the Playstation symbol colors, so this is a minor pet peeve.

Overall, this is a great controller, especially if you want a controller to play on your friends console(s). Definitely worth the price, especially if you get free shipping.

    2. Well worth it

At this price point, you can't go wrong.

Feels really solid, rubber non-slip grips are great / comfortable. Triggers and bumpers are great, as are the analog sticks. All are superior in feel to the Xbox One controller IMO. Triggers / Bumpers are on par with the PS4 controller, and I like the analog sticks on this more.

The face buttons are fine, if a tiny bit tall and spongy. The D-pad, by design, is a bit too sensitive. Because of the space they give you to switch out the D-par type, you can roll into an accidental diagonal a little too easy for my taste.

Overall, no regrets. This is a great first-effort by Brook. Given it's more then reasonable price and its universal application, I'd recommend it for sure.

    3. Great Buy!

Really solid all-around controller. Works as promised on PS3, PS4, and PC(I don't have a Switch). plug & Play, man. Nice size, good texture, responsive buttons & triggers-it's got the whole package. Great value for its price. on Nov 29th 2017

    4. Solid controller

The Brook Mars controller has great features with three different pads, compatibility across three consoles + PC, and zero input lag. Not surprising given the history of Brook products.

The main nag I have on the controller is the cross style d-pad is too small for my liking. I find myself jumping whenever pressing a lateral direction which leads to a ton of misinputs. I would not use this controller for fighting games due to this which is pretty disappointing considering that was my main intention for purchasing it.

On the bright side, it's a fantastic controller for other genres. The analog sticks feel smooth with Xbox One-style grip and the trigger buttons are very responsive. The headset support is a huge plus for me as well.

Overall, I'd give it a 3.5/5 but I rounded it to a 4/5 due to the site's rating style. Not very worth it for fighting games unless you have smaller hands. A good purchase for other genres.

    5. Cheap Build

Very dissapointed in the controller. Feels cheap and pulling off moves in a fighting game just feels very tedious and feel awkward.

Tedious because the buttons are very spongy, you have to put extra pressure compared to a standard button for Xboxone/DS4 controller.

unecessarily stiff for no reason, if you ever use an elite controller it feels good playing with it. I'm not expecting 150 dollar quality out of this one, but even a standard controller which is currently on sale for 40 dollars, it blows this out of the water.

Save yourself the trouble and stay away from this one.
