RJ45 Ethernet cables are quite fragile, and the connectors are prone to break if pulled forcefully. Protect the critical connection from your joystick's installed RJ45 port with a Neutrik NE8MC RJ45 Data Connector.
The NE8MC RJ45 Data Connector securely connects to the Neutrik NE8FDP RJ45 Feed-Through using a locking mechanism. The internal construction is designed to transfer the damagnig force of a pulled cord to the shell, protecting the RJ45 connector.
The NE8MC is available in two colors: Nickel and Matte Black. You can purchase color bushings to customize your data connector.
The NE8MC Data Connector is unassembled. To assemble the data connector around your RJ45 cable, please download and follow the official assembly instructions provided by Neutrik.
Modify for USB install, MC Cthulhu RJ45 Cable tutorial
By default, the NE8MC's internal structure is compatible only with RJ45 connectors. However, you can modify the "B" end of a male A-B USB cable to fit the NE8MC, by removing some of the housing on the cable. Instructions are available via shoryuken.com forums (Thanks to John Martin for the tip).
Further in Shoryuken.com forums is a detailed tutorial for developing your own RJ45 cables that are compatible with Toodles Cthulhu Multi-Console PCB and Akishop PS360+ Multi-Console Joystick PCB. The tutorial covers the MC Cthulhu, but RJ45 cables developed for the Cthulhu are also compatible with Akishop's flagship multi-console PCB.
